5. Facebook ads Would you like to reach tens of thousands of people in your market? Would you like to do it for under a dollar per thousand placements? Depending on your market, you may be able to run facebook ads to promote your business that will do just that. You see, those ads that appear on the right side of your personal facebook page, they aren’t there by accident. Those companies targeted you based on what was in your profile. You can do the same for your center.
The ad set up allows you to choose any city or zip code in the world to target your ad, and then you can select male/female, age group, education level, and many other criteria. You can even select people who aren’t yet fans of your page, or those who are friends of your existing fans. There are lots of options to target your ad here.
Next comes pricing. You determine how much you want to spend each day or month. Facebook will not exceed the budget you set for you ad, so you won’t get surprised later by the cost. The ads do run on a bidding process, so you may get more, or less, placements than you expected depending on who else is bidding on a similar set of criteria.
Once you place the ad you should monitor it to make sure it is getting the placements you expect. If not, you may have to increase your bid. And you do get to choose whether to bid on paying every time someone clicks on the ad, or by the number of times the ad is placed on a page. I will often get tens of thousands of ads a month for far less than I would pay for a very small ad in the local newspaper. And you can send clicks from the ad to your website or to your page. Give it a try as you will be surprised at how many ads you can get, and how many people will see them.
As with most things in life, you should either do it right or don’t do it at all. Facebook is one of those things.
